Visitations from the Ether

Visitations from the Ether delved into the uncanny space where memory and hallucination intersect. Through experimental and historical photographic processes, alongside sculptural and sonic interventions, I create artifacts of fabricated memories, visitations, and chemical traces. Operating within a transitional space between methodical experimentation and controlled chaos, my work is guided by chance and intuitive decision making, Rooted in an auto-ethnographic approach, I draw from past experiences with medication-induced psychosis to reconsider our relationship to photography ad artifacts shaped by intuition, perception, and constructed memory.

I use found objects that strike my psyche, like thoughts crossing the threshold of awareness—appearing as apparitions. Whether natural or man made, I approach these found objects as carriers of latent histories and energies, Light-sensitive photographic possess both a silver body and a psychological presence; images emerge from blank surfaces through chemical reactions, as if bubbling up from the unconscious. Through chemical manipulation, the photograph becomes a unique metallic, mirror like surface—an imperfect, self-reflexive medium that reflects light, space, and time. Ultimately, the images and objects in my work function as psychological experiences, activated through the viewer’s consciousness.
